Red Day

Red was a perfect color choice for this month's color day at school, don't you agree?

Of course Cutie Pie knows the drill and want to be just like big sissy. She joined in the red too:

But a sister picture wasn't enough. She wanted her very own red day picture too:

Then big hugs...because they really do love each other.

Red day was so cute! I can't believe we have only a few colors left until summer.

Busy, busy, busy

Someone around here is busy, busy, busy.

Since learning to walk, she has really started to show another side of her personality. She's busy!

Cutie Pie likes to multitask, likes to unpack bags and boxes, likes to make instruments out of all kinds of things, likes to play dress up, likes to climb, likes to play chase (really you chase her), and likes to have snacks.

Here is one example where she is playing princess dress up while shopping with her shopping cart basket, while eating a carrot. (I told you about multitasking, right?)

She's on the move to find some stuff to put in her basket....

On another night I let her play with my farmers market bag. Hmm...girl loves to shop. Watch out, Daddy :)

This and that....

 Just a few random photos:

At the end of January Cupcake got to wear her pajamas to school. Even the teachers participated! Here's our cute girl ready to go:

Gigi saved some of my old dresses. Cupcake is currently able to fit into several of them. Here's one that she loved so much she said it was like a princess outfit and insisted on wearing a crown and wings. Think it will last for her daughter?

Let's go fly a kite

Our January was unseasonably warm. I can only imagine the bug situation in a few months. Sigh.

But no time for worrying about the bugs that won't have died off...we've been enjoying what the rest of the country calls Spring with warm windy days. One such day was perfect for flying kites so off we went...

Cupcake is quite the kite flier these days! Here is Daddy launching her kite:

And the perspective! Cupcake is in red at the bottom right.

Of course we are also in a certain stage (or maybe this is life with sisters?!) with Cutie Pie called "Me too" Here is Cutie Pie's first kite experience:

She does not give up....and we like that....most times :)

Daddy offers some help:

And when all else fails, why not roll in the winter grass, on this spring like day, for a tickle fest! But, if you look closely Cupcake is still holding her kite!

MLK day adventure

I'm endlessly behind on posting. My apologies to the blog stalkers...I'm down to about 6 of you since I haven't posted in so long.

The Hubs got MLK day off and we headed to New Braunfels to visit the Children's Museum. It's more like a Pre-school museum but was perfect for a little day trip adventure.

Cutie Pie really loves fish and turtles. I must find an aquarium experience for her. Here she is in awe of their tank.

They also had a child sized cabin in the woods exhibit. Cutie Pie made herself a hot-dog and sat down to enjoy it. Don't forget the mustard....said no one in our family, ever. But alas....

Perhaps the favorite for many reasons was the grocery store exhibit. Here's Cupcake, who found fairy dress up clothes in a different exhibit, shopping:

Not to be out done:

And because it's Texas we headed outside to the water exhibit even though it was January!

There wasn't a big crowd and we all enjoyed our little adventure!

New Year, New Heights

We're having a pretty warm January. It is so warm I'm concerned for the bugs that will haunt us in a few short months if we don't see some serious cold fronts in the coming weeks.

In the midst of the pleasant weather we've been out exploring some new heights, literally. Check out Cupcake's complete lack of fear these days:

(She's on the green disc towards the top!)

So proud of herself at a local park:

Perspective:

Mom had to join in the fun:

 CHEESE!

Great work, Cupcake! We love seeing you take on new challenges.
