Last week my sweet cupcake and I braved the heat with our dear friends Kristi and Josh-y to pick some blackberries. After a long car ride of hand holding (not Kristi and I), babbling, sippy cup sharing, and uh-oh-ing we arrived. It was super hot and somehow we didn't think about the stickers on the blackberry bushes. So Kristi and I took turns watching the little ones and picking berries. We managed to get about 6 pounds which is a LOT of blackberries. We also picked some tomatoes which were much more kid friendly. We enjoyed a picnic lunch in the shade but as you can see from the picture it still took us a long time to cool down. A farm cat joined us for lunch and cupcake and Josh-y were in love with him. He was gentle and sweet as they both petted, pulled, and poked probably a little to hard. Of course he knew what was coming....lunch. And of course our little ones shared. Oh well....lazy summer days are meant for breaking a few rules, right? It was so much fun to be out on the farm for the morning and both kiddos did great in the Texas heat. Our little cupcake still rolls with an adventure and of course loves animals. Thanks friends for a fun day!
Sorry I don't have more pictures! Kristi was the main photographer on this outing! Now I'm off to make some yummy blackberry creations. Brudder's comin' to town this weekend....
