A few tidbits...

Sometimes I really am a horrible blogger. This month has been one of those months. Sorry. No excuses, no explanations. I could share about several deaths, a family in need, a dear friend who's in the midst of angst and disappointment, another who's Aunt is doing poorly, and a preemie born about 10 weeks early. But, I'll save those thoughts for the ONE who really can comfort/heal/and guide it all and get back to a few lighter topics.....

CUPCAKE IS 18 MONTHS!!!

We love 18 months. I say it every month but this one is fantastic. She is talking up a storm, climbing everything, learning to problem solve in really cute ways, and likes to play pretend which serves up a huge dose of humility for this Mom.

I won't list all her words because there are literally more than I could even think of. Some of the ones that impress us are eyebrow, pumpkin, giggle monster, Cupcake (YAY!!!), and caterpillar. She really will climb everything and in fact likes to climb up something, get my attention and then yell "GET DOWN" as if she's the Mom. Then she gets down. It's precious. She also loves to problem solve. She likes identifying hot vs. cold, wet vs. dry, and likes to count but only to three. If you ask her what is after three she says WEEEEEE!!! She loves her babies, pushing her babies, nursing her babies, and of course telling them "No, no, no" The most recent humbling pretend play was that she told her baby No and then walked into the kitchen, got out a bowl and started to stir. Then she peaked in on the baby and said "It's ok" and then went and gave her a kiss. Hmmmm....I hope she doesn't think it's OK when I tell her no?!

Anyway, at our Dr.'s appointment she moved up a percent for weight to the grand ole 2% at a whopping 19.5 pounds. Peanut, Monkey, or Mini-me might have been better names for Cupcake yet she's still delicate, sweet, and precious so we aren't changing it yet.

Speaking of cupcakes, we took these bad boys across the street yesterday in honor of our neighbor's 65 (read it again, 65th) wedding anniversary.

Some notes from that experience:
1. Cupcake cried all the way across the street and all the way back. Apparently she thinks all cupcakes are for her. Ahem.
2. Did I mention our neighbors name? Mr. and Mrs. Doolittle. Isn't that darling?
3. 65 years...just in case you missed it the first two times. The Crackteam probably won't live to see 65 ears of marriage but we sure love that we have such old wisdom just steps away.
4. You are never too old for sweets. I should have taken a picture of her beaming smile when Mrs. Doolittle saw the cupcakes.

Oh wow! Chloe has such a vast vocabulary already!

And I absolutely LOVE that your anniversary couple's last name is Doolitte - how cute...just like those cupcakes you whipped up for them!

I literally laughed out loud, reading the paragraph about her climbing, counting, and pretending. They don't miss a beat! I loved this update, Karen!
