Happy 4th of July!

Summer is flying by and in the coolest summer in many years it's hard to believe July 4th came and went with only a handful of days over 100 degrees so far.

We attended our neighbor hood pool party and then were able to see the fireworks display from our street with friends. Then we participated in the 4th of July bike parade with our neighbors.

Later we headed to our friends house cook out and celebrate the 4th in these patriotic flower dresses that Gigi sewed for the girls. It was a patriotic day of fun!

My littlest princess

Of course while Cupcake was having a total blast each day at Princess camp, Cutie pie was the one who had to drive back and forth from camp and see all the big girls having all the fun. She was a VERY good sport but I could see her heart sink a little each day as she peered into the explosions of princess fun. So I decided we'd have our very own princess "camp" and invite a few friends. We had a super fun morning of making princess cookies, painting a princess project, reading a princess story, and of course dressing up all fancy. I didn't do a great job taking pictures but there were a few to show my littlest princess's very own camp!

Princess camp

Cupcake was THRILLED to attend Princess with a Purpose Camp (think: VBS on Royal steriods) in June. I was overcome by the cuteness that was involved with hundreds of little girls dressing up for camp each day. They learned about inner beauty, grace, God's love, and how they are daughters of the King. It was a really incredible camp and I can't say enough how much Cupcake loved going each day to.

Dress up
Best friends
Pink explosions
Crafts
Nail polish
A performance to practice for
It's every little girls dream week!

Oh....and it was even more awesome that her other best friend was down the hall at warrior camp. This little princess didn't have to look far to find a prince!

Super Dad!

For Father's Day this year we decided to celebrate our SUPER Dad in SUPER HERO fashion. Cupcake included that there should be one day of no pink in honor of our lone man in the house. So we had a super hero banner, a super hero breakfast, and then went to the arcade with some friends to play some SUPER hero games. We had some friends over for dinner so we could celebrate two awesome Dads!

I didn't do a great job of getting pictures but I do have a few of our SUPER Hero outfits. We love you Super Dad! (Click the pictures for closer views of the shirts we made)

P is for.....

P is for Paper-bag, Princess, and Popcorn!!

We recently got this book. I knew I wanted to do something fun with this story....so I had the girls make their own paper bags dresses. Next we had to make them pretty. Glue, poms, glitter, stamps....oh the art supplies that girls love! Once we were fancy in our paper-bag dresses I popped some popcorn on the stove and we snacked while reading our book. It was a fun little activity and when something has the word Princess on it....Cupcake is sure to love it. I am loving our summer memories!!

Graffiti training

What better way to kick off summer with some shenanigan's? Graffiti training anyone?

My friend Kelli is one fun Mom! She planned this little backyard play date and it was the perfect kick off to our summer of fun!

She hung up a white sheet and filled spray bottles with colored paint. These little graffiti artists were screaming with delight as they "painted the fence!"

She also had a little water activity box for the little. Of course they preferred splashing to trying to paint. The squirt bottles were just a little hard for their little hands.

After painting, splashing, swinging, and crashing...Kelli brought out some homemade popsicles. They were a huge hit.

I don't understand the Mommy-grumbles of the kids being out of school for summer. These are some fun memories! Thanks Kelli for a great play date...let's hope they keep their skillz to your backyard!

Last day of school

The last day of school was full of fun memories. I made a special breakfast for our Cupcake's last day in the Bear class.

Gigi and Papa came to town and were able to join us for the Spring program at school. Gigi made Cupcake a dress to wear for the show and we snapped a quick picture before heading to school. Isn't the dress so precious?

The program was great! We were all so proud of Cupake. She waved, she sang, she preformed. It was a really special last day of school.

Hello Summer! (Of course that was back in May....I'm just forever behind on this blog!)
