I realized as I was gearing up for the 6 month picture that I never posted the 5 month picture. So....here it is. A little late. I'll post the 6 month one soon. Our Cutie Pie is growing fast!
I'm a little, like half a month, behind on this post but here is Cutie Pie's 4 month picture:
She is soooooo happy! She will smile at just about anyone. She is trying so hard to figure out how to really laugh so she can laugh at her sissy! She is still sleeping swaddled and at 4 months was still sleeping in our room but at 4 months and a week we moved her to her own room. She wasn't too sure at first but she is getting better and better each night. At 4.5 months her general sleep schedule is 7pm bedtime, wake at 5:30a to eat, back to sleep until 8:00ish. Then she naps around 10am for about an hour and then from 2-4:30pm. She also sneaks cat naps in the car or here and there. Really she'd probably like to have three naps but the life of a second child doesn't always allow for quiet naps multiple times a day. She still loves to put her fingers in her mouth and if she didn't sleep swaddled I would bet we'd have a thumb sucker on our hands. She loves most to watch her sister from her Mommy's arms. She is just on the brink of realizing when she is not in Mommy's or Daddy's arms and she doesn't like it. I however love that she prefers us! Her favorite toys are ones that light up or play music. She still likes to chatter and sometimes she talks so loudly that we have to try and shhh her. She is still rolling from front to back but doesn't care to roll from back to front. She doesn't love her tummy....so why would she learn? She still likes her bath and her jump-a-roo. She is starting to enjoy books since it's something she can do with Cupcake. Really she is so in love with Cupcake that she'd do about anything if Cupcake is too. The good news for her is that Cupcake is super in love with her too. Hence this month's outtakes:
I'm a little behind on this but here is Cutie Pie's 3 month picture...taken on time, uploaded late.
She is happy, happy, happy! She loves to smile, talk, and drool. She is trying to laugh and mostly practices with her sissy. She's still a great sleeper at night and especially loves that in the final stretch of the morning she gets to come in our bed for Mommy and Daddy cuddles. During the days she still resists naps...especially in the morning when she can hear Cupcake playing. She rolled from front to back for the first time about a week after her 3rd month birthday. She was so proud of herself she cooed like crazy. So we put her on her tummy again and she rolled again. She even did it for Daddy when he got home. It was so cute! She's loving toys and grabs at anything we put close to her...including Cupcake's hair. Eep! Cupcake is mostly patient with her and tries to pull her hair free from the grip. She still loves being held but also does well on her play mat or in her jump-a-roo. Cupcake is soooooo good with her. She even changed a diaper all by herself. We put Cutie Pie on the floor and I was right there but mostly just watched. The whole ordeal took about 20 minutes but they were both so thrilled with the process that I was fine with it. On a trip to the Dr. for Cupcake we did a quick weight check on Cutie Pie too and at 3 months and 1 week she was 12.5 pounds!
The out-takes are always my favorite:
Big Smiles....really big: Talking...not smiling for the camera. Sigh.
"That's enough pictures, Mommy."
"Well, ok. One more. I love smiling. Smiling is my favorite!"
Cutie Pie is 2 months old! Wow...I know I'm a little blurry brained but have the last 2 months been super fast for anyone else?
Cutie Pie is smiling like crazy especially at her sister who will do anything to get a smile out her. She was 10 pounds, 8 ounces at her 2 month check up putting her in the 46% for weight. She is in the 98% for height. Is it fair to be jealous of my two girls that constantly rank in as tall and skinny? She is sleeping one long run in the night giving us 4-6 hours of sleep and we appreciate that. She typically wakes up around 5am and after that feeding, she gets to sleep in bed with us. It is winter, it is cold, and all three of us LOVE the sweet snuggles we get in the morning. Cutie Pie is such a snuggler that she doesn't like for me to put her down at all during the day. Eep! I wind up carrying her in one of my various slings or carriers for bulks of most days. Massages welcome! She is very aware and loves to see her sister. She is figuring her hands out and reaching for toys. Most recently she has taken a fond interest in a tiny baby doll that Great-Grand Uncle Charlie and Great-Grand Aunt Betty sent for her. She will smile and try her hardest to pick the little baby up. It is precious! Of course big sister is right there with her doll to show her the ropes.
Here's her 2 month Owl pic (thanks Nana for the onesie which matches the nursery!):
When I was pregnant with Cutie Pie she very often had her hands in front of her face. I was having ultrasounds each week in the last 10 because of gestational diabetes so I was able to see her often but really I saw her hands in front of her face more than anything. Funny....she does the same thing even still:
Cutie Pie's one month birthday came and went but luckily we did snap a picture:
She has grown! She weighed in at 9 pounds, 1 ounce for her 1 month checkup. She is also sleeping 4 or 5 hour chunks in the night which makes Mommy oh so happy! She is still a cuddle bug who prefers to be held all day long. She loves her sister and looks towards her when she hears her voice.
