Save it for a rainy day - HA!

We must be in the dog days of summer. We've been over 100 degrees for 10 days straight with the next 7 in the forecast over 100 too. We still have not had rain in months. Let's not forget, it's still the first half of June. SCREAM!

Of course I'm also pregnant. AND after a recent trip we all came down with a bug. Not all at one time....of course. It's been longer and drawn out. Cupcake had it first. She passed it to me. I passed it to the hubs. When the hubs was at the most miserable point mine developed into bronchitis circling me back to misery. Pregnant, hot, and whole family sick....DOUBLE SCREAM!

We were stuck in doors, wearing pajamas, and fighting illness while keeping the on-the-tail-end-of-sick 2 yr old busy. So I decided it was time to bring out the rainy day box. It had collected enough dust and since there is no rain in sight there's still a chance it will seem new the next time it rains....out came the washable finger paint!

Cupcake started out wanting one color at a time:

"Look, Mommy! Purple!!!"

Then we'd wipe that color off completely and she'd try a new one:

I convinced her it was ok to mix the colors but she wasn't so sure:

Then she decided it was pretty:

Until I told her she didn't have to make just hand prints. So she mashed all the colors up in an non-hand print way. Only to be upset! "Not pretty Mommy!!!":

In the end it was so much fun that we had to leave the hand printed papers on the floors for days.

Where was Daddy in all the fun? Miserable in bed. Where was Mommy other than behind the camera? Taking a clue from Callie the spoiled chocolate lab who lives with Gigi and Papa but is claimed by Cupcake: I was laying right there on the cold tile trying to stay cool. It's going to be a long summer folks.

SCREAM! - for good measure.

Funny! I get upset to when things are not pretty! ;) I love the shot of her holding her hand up with such a beautiful smile :)))
